Entry from: Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand Entry Title: “Sweaty Hikes” Entry: “Sleeping in extreme heat and humidity isn’t that bad once you get used to it. A fan helps, but once you fall asleep, your body temperature drops enough to keep you asleep anyways. The past two nights I’ve woken up at dawn because I felt cold when the fan swept past me. Falling asleep can be tricky. I haven’t figure that part out yet, except to walk a lot during the day. I think the best part about Phi Phi Don Island is that all the shops and restaurants serve a drink made out of real lemons. It’s really nice after having to drink orange juice the whole way through Europe. Tonight I even splurged another 75 cents for a second lemonade. It might not seem like a lot, but thats about 10 percent of my daily spendings on this island. There’s quite a few stands around town that sell pirated DVDs for $2. Most of the DVDs are still playing in the US theaters but of course that doesn’t stop anyone in Asia. Many of the ex-pat restaurants play these movies throughout the night at their bars. Some of the movies include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factor” and “40 year old Virgin”. I set out this morning about 8:30. It’s really a lot quieter when most of the shops are closed. A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand by TravelPod blogger Jo_and_peter titled “Koh Phi Phi Lay” Jo_and_peter’s travel blog entry: “Last night we wandered aroung town and saw a fire show so we decided to stop and watch. We went the bar and it was 190 baht for a bucket of vodka. We wern’t really in the mood but it was too cheap to not get one. It came in a kids beach bucket and had the slightest amount of coke in it. We sat back in our beach chairs and watched the show and between us tried to finish the bucket. It never happened though it was too strong. Jo ordered a banana pancake on the way home and we past a Liverpool Legacy Bar. (It was great dad) all the staff wore Liverpool kits. I’m thinking of dragging Jo there for a Carlsberg tonight. This morning i was up really early and Jo woke up at 8ish so we got showered and changed for our trip. I was taking a shave when i heard Jo scream. I peared my head around the bathroom door to see her standing on the bed pointing at the mirror across the room. There was a fairly big cockroach crawling across it. I bagged it with the bin, scared some thai girl walking to the bathroom with it, I asked her if she’d like some breakfast (they do eat some strange things over here so you never know) then i dumped it outside. We had toast for breakfast and then headed to the harbour for our 10.30am trip. We waded out to the longboat because it was low tide and we began our trip. It took us 30mins to
