A family day out to Koh Phi Phi and Maya Bay (location for the film ‘The Beach’) The sea was dark and choppy, a storm looming put off all visitors but ourselves that day. The choppy sea approaching the massive island rock turned from wintery sliver to an ominous black. Entering Maya Bay it turned to turquoise. The lagoons behind Maya Bay were perfectly still and eerily silent. The immense vaulted walls of rock echoed our whispering voices.
